Skaska Jewelry To Donate 20% of All Sales to the North Texas Food Bank

Skaska Jewelry, the woman-owned, ecologically and ethically-sustainable fine jewelry brand, is giving back to the North Texas community by using proceeds to feed families in need to combat the effects of Covid-19. With every jewelry purchase, Skaska Jewelry donates 20% of sales to the North Texas Food Bank.

From March 18 until April 18 2020, Skaska Jewelry is helping raise funds for the North Texas Food Bank in light of the Coronavirus pandemic. Founded in 1982, the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a nonprofit hunger relief organization that distributes donated, purchased and prepared foods through a network of more than 200 partner agencies in 13 counties.

Their goal is to always to provide food to neighbors that need it most:

  • Our senior population, who is especially vulnerable to the virus and already face high food-insecurity rates here in Texas.
  • Workers who now face leave without pay as a result of decreased consumer activity.
  • Children in low-income households who are losing access to daily nutrition as a result of school closures.
  • Families who don’t have the ability to stock up on supplies and healthy foods in the event of a quarantine.

The food bank has already started stockpiling emergency food boxes and sanitation supply kits and will continue to deliver supplies to those in need. Skaska Jewelry founder and designer Diana Behringer says, “It is so important to us to support our community, and we’re eager to help make a difference during this difficult time.”

Skaska Jewelry is based in Dallas, Texas, and employs artisans in DFW to create jewelry using conflict-free stones and sustainable gold.

Skaska, the Russian word for “story" or "fairy tale", was inspired by the belief that jewelry has a way of capturing our special moments and milestones. Handcrafted in the US, Skaska uses 14k and 18k sustainable gold set with precious and semi-precious conflict-free stones; a collection of those delicate, effortless, and elegant, reminding us of the stories that make up our lives, our "skaskas."

Born in Belarus and raised in Dallas, Texas, designer Diana Behringer draws inspiration for her collections from the unique combination of her classical Eastern European heritage and freespirited Southern lifestyle. An artist, world traveler, and mother, her designs enhance a woman’s natural beauty by adding luxury that can be worn and adored every day.

If an out-of-town client wants their 20% donated to Feeding America, please communicate that to Skaska Jewelry with their order.
